European Identity Lectures, February 2004
The search for identity has always been important in order to be able to analyse the atmosphere of our environment, our situation and our group. A sense of identity is subject to our perception.
From this point of origin Mattmo organised a lecture series about 'European Identity'. At the Design Academy Eindhoven we invited a number of prominent speakers to address the subject 'Does a European Identity exist?'
Among the speakers were Hedy d'Ancona (former member of the European parliament), Peer Vries (Professor of History), Theo Deutinger (AMO), Ole Bouman (Archis), Wouter Hooijmans (AKI), Yara Cavalcanti (Premsela).

Student mentoring Interactive Documentary, 2004
Joeri Bleumer and Matthias Oostrik of the Dutch Film and Television Academy wanted to make people aware of the world of perception of the elderly in Amsterdam. 'Bewogen Verhalen' (Moving Stories) became an interactive documentary. Twenty Amsterdam elderly people tell the story of their city.
Moving through the projecting area triggered a compilation of memories and changes come to life in a triptych.
Combining interaction and film into an interactive documentary was a logical step for Mattmo.
