ARCAM, the Amsterdam Centre for Architecture invited Mattmo to design their 'Science & The City' exhibition. The expo concerns the Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer area where various interests are taken into account in the area planning. To give a clear insight into the plans Mattmo designed a hanging box. The inside of the box shows all the images and photos; loose panels show the accompanying texts. From the outside one at first sees nothing but a view into the box. The real insight only comes when inside. For Mattmo the challenge was to let navigation, storytelling and physical typography come together.
